When we opened Bubbala’s, we knew we wanted to create something special—comforting food, a welcoming space, and a little slice of tradition made fresh.

    Jewish-inspired deli, bakery and cafe Bubbala’s in San Anselmo brings together father-daughter culinary duo Greg Bernson and Janelle Loiselle, who share the classic comfort foods of their heritage with a few unique twists.

  • ‘It starts and ends with pastrami’: Bubbala’s Jewish deli finally opens in Marin

    Greg Bernson didn’t know exactly how much meat he’d need to run his deli in its first week. So he prepared using his best guess: 70 pounds of brisket, 90 pounds of corned beef, and 100 or so pounds of pastrami. Nonetheless, by the end of the opening week in business, Bubbala’s Neighborhood Eatery ran out of meat.

  • San Anselmo getting its own Jewish deli as Bubbala’s goes brick-and-mortar

    While we await word of Drewish Deli’s opening in Healdsburg, J. is the first to break the news that San Anselmo will be getting its own Jewish eatery. Last year around the High Holidays, we brought you news of a Jewish pop-up in Marin County called Bubbala’s, created by father and daughter Greg Bernson and Janelle Loiselle, who sold their wares in San Rafael.
